Integrated Linux-based Server Solution Makes IPedge More Powerful, More

Group (http://www.toshiba.ca), today announced the availability of IPedge(®), 
an IP business telephone system that gives users the features, functionality, 
quality and reliability for which Toshiba's telephone systems are known, in a 
pure IP format. Its Linux-based single-server solution makes IPedge more 
powerful, more affordable, more reliable and easier to administer. IPedge is 
now available from Authorized Toshiba dealers across Canada.

expanded call processing, unified communications, unified voice messaging 
features, centralized administration, and other high value features giving 
users enhanced functionality deliverable by self-administration to each users

IPedge Delivers Multiple UC Applications on a Single Server 
IPedge accommodates multiple unified communication applications on a single 
server, including call processing, meet-me conferencing with Web collaboration 
and video, voicemail with unified messaging, native SIP line and SIP trunk 
support, mobility, survivability, centralized administration across multiple 
sites, and feature-rich telephone endpoints. Call Centre application solutions 
are also available with an additional server. 
IPedge Utilizes Secure and Robust Linux Operating System 
IPedge's Linux-based single-server solution makes it more powerful, more 
affordable, more reliable, and easier to administrate. Benefits include 
survivability within or across the network to support business continuity and 
a higher level of security. A single IP address provides cost-effective 
deployment. SIP trunks work natively with the IPedge without requiring 
additional gateway equipment. With its IP technology and open standards,

One Hundred Percent Networking Compatibility with Toshiba Strata CIX 
Strata® CIX™ systems can be networked easily with IPedge systems. IPedge 
Net is completely compatible with CIX Strata Net networking and provides a

CIX are complementary product lines that enable Toshiba to deliver 
comprehensive solutions to meet various market needs. 
Endpoints to Meet Virtually Every Need 
IPedge is compatible with virtually every type of IP endpoint available. 
Users can choose from Toshiba IP desk and wall-mountable telephones, soft 
phone solutions for laptop computers, wireless IP telephones for use over the 
wireless LAN and/or a cellular service, add-on modules, attendant consoles, as 
well as third-party SIP telephones, door phones, and other SIP endpoints. 
Toshiba digital telephones can be supported through a networked Strata CIX 
system, and analogue telephones are even supported via available gateway 
solutions. 
Toshiba's Powerful Call Manager Delivers Unified Communications 
Toshiba's Call Manager application enables users to combine the capabilities 
of their computer and their Toshiba telephone into a powerful communication 
tool. Users can click on their laptop or tablet PC to dial, answer, transfer 
calls and much more, without touching the telephone. 
Presence lets users quickly see the current status of co-workers, transmit 
important information and best serve customers through an easy and intuitive 
unified communications interface. CRM integration provides screen pops with 
programs including SalesForce.com®, Act!®, Microsoft Outlook® and more. 
Users can also send Chat instant messages, broadcast Chat messages to multiple 
users, and enable simultaneous chat sessions. 
Enterprise Manager Provides Centralized System Management 
IPedge gives the system administrator control via its built-in, browser-based, 
centralized administration. Enterprise Manager is a Web-based management 
tool that provides centralized installation and maintenance of all IPedge 
systems over the LAN/WAN from any location. 
This Web-based solution eliminates the need to install separate software, 
making remote system administration possible using a laptop or desktop 
computer from anywhere there is Internet access. Centralized management 
ensures more consistent and efficient system administration while managing 
database errors between network nodes. Administrators using Active Directory 
synchronization (AD sync) can also import information such as name and number 
to IPedge further streamlining system management. 
Personal Telephone Administration Gives Users Control 
Using IPedge Enterprise Manager and a Web browser, individual users can manage 
their own telephones, including programming buttons and personalizing 
telephone functions. This application liberates system administrators from 
such tasks. 
IPedge Empowers to Collaborate, Communicate and Connect Over the Web with Video 
The IPedge Meeting application gives users an online solution to collaborate, 
communicate, or connect with video. Features include dial-in audio 
conferencing and Web collaboration with scheduling, Outlook calendar 
integration, desktop sharing, conference recording, usage reporting and 
more. Its Web-based format means that no application software installation 
is required and that users can attend a collaboration session from any 
location where the LAN/WAN provides coverage and dial into the audio 
conference from any supported laptop or tablet PC device via the LAN/WAN. 
Flexible Voicemail Improves Communication 
Voicemail is a resident application of IPedge with no additional equipment 
needed. Its comprehensive capabilities include: 


    --  Simple voicemail box operation through a Toshiba IP telephone
        with display and soft keys;
    --  Call recording directly into voice mail at the touch of a
        button;
    --  Follow-me routing, which helps important calls reach the user
        no matter where they are;
    --  Unified Messaging options to manage voice, fax and email from
        the PC or telephone;
    --  Interactive voice response applications that can be added as
        needed; and
    --  Powerful scripting language, which allows the customization of
        voicemail capabilities, IVR functions and the ability to add or
        enhance features such as recording or playback and more.

On-Site Mobility Helps Important Calls Get Through

Wireless IP telephones compatible with IPedge enable users to answer calls, 
access voicemail and utilize virtually all of the system's advanced calling 
features anywhere the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) provides coverage. 
In addition, Toshiba's SoftIPT® soft phone client operates on any supported 
laptop or tablet PC via the WLAN or cellular Wide Area Network (WAN).

IPedge Delivers Contact Centre Efficiency

The Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) application, part of Toshiba's Contact 
Centre Suite, handles calls efficiently and routes callers to agents as 
required. Running as an application on the Media Application Server (MAS) 
connected to the IPedge, ACD offers sophisticated contact centre capabilities, 
including skills-based routing, balanced call counts, priority queuing, 
multimedia Web call back and more.

Toshiba's Contact Centre Suite applications enable multi-site contact centres 
to work as one integrated system. The functionality of the Call Manager 
application is extended over the network to provide features such as Presence 
and Chat between users in multiple locations. Toshiba's Contact Centre Suite 
also includes powerful and user-defined reporting with call statistics on 
everything from agent performance to forecasting.
