Power and Associates 2012 Wireless Network Quality Performance Study(SM), Volume 2. The Northeast Region includes New York and six other states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. For a 16th consecutive reporting period, Verizon Wireless ranks highest in the Northeast region with fewer customer-reported problems with dropped calls, initial connections, transmission failures and late text messages, compared with the regional average. Verizon Wireless also ranks highest in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest and West regions. The J.D. Power and Associates study measured network quality among all U.S. wireless service providers based on factors that impact overall carrier performance. Approximately 27,000 wireless subscribers were surveyed by J.D. Power and Associates between January and June 2012 about their experiences with wireless voice, text messaging and data usage. Based on their responses, Verizon Wireless performed significantly above the industry average in all six regions and ranked highest among national wireless companies in five regions, including the Northeast.
