American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), the largest publicly traded
U.S. water and wastewater utility company, announced today that it intends to
release its 2012 second quarter financial results after the market closes on
Thursday, August 2, 2012.

Jeff Sterba, president and chief executive officer, and Ellen Wolf, senior
vice president and chief financial officer, will host the second quarter 2012
earnings conference call and audio webcast with investors, analysts and other
interested parties on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight
Time. There will be a question and answer session as part of the call.
