network solutions, today held its global premiere of the ZTE Grand X dual-core
4.3-inch screen smartphone in Turkey, bringing high end mobile video and
gaming experiences to a wider audience.
The ZTE Grand X combines an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core chipset, Android 4.0 (Ice
Cream Sandwich), and a 4.3-inch qHD 16m colour (960 x 540 pixels) screen to
deliver a rich mobile multimedia experience, in particular for gaming and
video applications.
“The Grand X has features that make it stand out from the crowd at a price
point that will be extremely competitive, putting mid to high-end smartphone
capabilities within the reach of millions more people,” said ZTE EVP and head
of the Terminals Division Mr. He Shiyou.
The Grand X also has the latest communications capabilities including Mobile
HD Link which enables sharing video content on TVs. Audio-visual features
include a 5 MP camera, a 0.3 MP front-facing camera for video calls, Dolby
Sound, HD Video Capture and HD Voice.
The ZTE Grand X launched in Turkey today is a 3G model, and is the first in
the ZTE Grand series available outside China. The Grand series will include:
Grand X for 3G and LTE dual core handsets; Grand Era for 3G and LTE quad-core
handsets; and an Intel-powered handset.
“The global success of the ZTE Blade and Skate Android smartphones over the
last 18 months has helped ZTE become the No. 4 handset manufacturer in the
world,” Mr. Shiyou said. “Our many handsets at the smartphone entry level and
now the Grand handsets in the mid and high level of specifications mean ZTE
now covers every price and feature level with world-leading handsets at
world-beating prices.”
“We continue to build our channel capabilities around the world to deliver
ZTE-branded devices to a global audience, and are bringing on new business
partners every day. This launch in association with Turkey’s leading handset
distributor, KVK, is the first step in the roll-out of this strategic
smartphone range across Europe, Asia and the USA,” Mr. Shiyou concluded.
At the Turkey launch of the ZTE Grand X, ZTE also announced the mid-level Cool
and Live smartphones.
Note: The Grand X was previewed at Mobile World Congress 2012 as the Mimosa X.
