CITI APPOINTS NEW YORK CITY AND NEW YORK METRO DIVISION HEADS

CITI APPOINTS NEW YORK CITY AND NEW YORK METRO DIVISION HEADS FOR CITI COMMERICAL BANK

Senior Banking Leader Appointments are Part of Effort to Expand and Strengthen the Citi Commercial Bank Leadership Team

New York, NY - Citi® Commercial Bank today named Eric H. Waser New York Metro Division Head and Daniel A. Greene New York City Division Head. Citi Commercial Bank provides banking solutions to tens of thousands of mid-sized companies around the world. Waser and his team will have direct responsibility for commercial and nonprofit markets in New Jersey, the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, and Greene will work with clients in Manhattan.

Waser and Greene will report to Robert W. Koar, US Eastern Region President. The appointments are part of an ongoing strategy to enhance Citi Commercial Bank operations throughout the US and around the world.

“Our strategy begins and ends with the delivery of exceptional experiences for our clients, and deploying top-tier talent throughout our business is one of the most important steps we can take to achieve that,” said Koar. “Eric and Dan both bring extensive banking backgrounds with experience building and managing strong client relationships, and I’m extremely confident they will help us enhance and build our business in the region.”

Waser joins Citi with 24 years of experience in the banking industry in senior roles at Sovereign Bank, Fleet Boston Financial and First Fidelity Bank, leading banking units responsible for small, middle-market and large corporate businesses as well as specialty banking, which included healthcare and nonprofit entities. At Sovereign, he served as CEO of Sovereign NJ and Director and Mid-Atlantic Corporate Banking President, where he led retail and commercial banking businesses with more than 1,000 employees. Most recently, he held Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President positions with Clean Venture, Inc., a US environmental services company with $85 million in sales and more than 400 employees.

Greene joins Citi with more than 25 years of experience in middle market banking. Most recently, he was with Amalgamated Bank as Executive Vice President and Group Head for Commercial & Industrial Banking, which includes Middle Market Banking and Treasury Management Services. Greene’s previous positions included leadership roles at JP Morgan Chase Bank, where he helped grow the Middle Market Business in the Northeast, as well as GE Commercial Finance, Fleet Bank and Chemical Bank.

The appointments follow a series of appointments to strengthen Citi Commercial Bank leadership. In March 2012, Citi named William Howle Head of Citi Commercial Bank for the U.S. In November 2011, Koar was appointed as Eastern Region President and Shawn McGowen was named Western Region President. Waser and Greene are the third and fourth Division Heads in the Eastern Region under Koar, joining Zachary Mayo, who covers Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut and Boston, and Bill Knott, who covers Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Florida.
