               More than 40 Agencies and Organizations Awarded

BOSTON -- June 08, 2012

The Publicity Club of New England, the region’s oldest not-for-profit public
relations trade organization, today announced the winners of its 44^th Annual
Bell Ringer Awards competition. The awards ceremony, held on Monday, June 4 at
the Westin Waltham-Boston in Waltham, Mass., honored public relations and
communication professionals from more than 40 agencies and organizations
across New England demonstrating superior excellence in public relations and
communication initiatives.

The Platinum Super Bell Award, presented to the organization that executed the
best communications campaign of the year, went to Sharon Merrill Associates
for the Gibraltar 2011 Investor Relations Campaign.

“The team at Sharon Merrill is honored to be recognized with the Platinum
Super Bell,” said Maureen Wolff, president and partner, Sharon Merrill
Associates. “We are proud of our team’s successful efforts to develop and
implement a comprehensive investor relations campaign to raise our client’s
visibility with the investment community and other critical audiences. We
thank the Publicity Club of New England for this prestigious award.”

Platinum Super Bell finalists included MKPR, LLC, Duffy & Shanley, Inc.,
Porter Novelli and Davies Murphy Group. The evening’s top winners were Cone
Communications, LLC with 21 awards, CTP and Schneider Associates each with 12
awards, and 360 PR and Racepoint Group with nine awards each.

In addition to recognizing the exceptional work of communications teams across
the region, the Club honored Joan Schneider, president and founder of
Schneider Associates, with the 2012 John J. Molloy Crystal Bell Lifetime
Achievement Award for her significant achievements in the industry.

“It has been a privilege for me to work alongside Joan Schneider, one of the
true titans in the public relations industry and someone who is devoted to
growing her clients’ businesses and developing the skills of those around
her,” said Phil Pennellatore, COO at Schneider Associates. “Joan is a
passionate PR professional who wakes up every day with new ideas and
approaches to helping her clients succeed. Her entrepreneurial spirit and
enthusiasm are truly an inspiration to all of those who work with her.”

The Club also presented two professional awards: the Striker Award and the
Ringer Award. The Striker Award recognizes a practitioner who demonstrated an
early love of the field, a dedication to their career and a superior work
ethic. This year, Kate Binette of SHIFT Communications was chosen as the
recipient for excelling in the communications industry in a very short period
of time and surpassing other newcomers in the organization and in the field.

The Ringer Award honors a practitioner who demonstrated steady and significant
progress in impacting his or her agency, company or practice and the New
England PR community since entering the field of public relations. This year,
the award was presented to Karyn Martin of 451 Marketing.

The Club continued its annual student scholarship program by awarding the 2012
William Cavanaugh Grant to Boston University student Ginny Soskey for her
superior academic achievement.

The Bell Ringer Awards ceremony was emceed by David Wade, morning anchor for
WBZ-TV and recipient of 21 Emmys. For this year’s charity auction recipient,
Wade selected the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which is committed to
providing both children and adults with the best cancer treatment available
today while working to develop tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge
technology.
