  Kimball International Announces Furniture Group Promotions; Four Receive New
  Officer Appointments

Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB) today announced the promotions of
several key leaders within the Company’s Furniture Group of branded companies.
The appointments of four officers reflect Kimball’s strategic commitment to
ongoing growth plans in the Company’s Furniture segment.

Don Van Winkle has been promoted to the position of President, Office
Furniture Group and Vice President, of Kimball International, Inc., with
responsibility for National Office Furniture, Kimball Office, and the
Furniture Group Shared Services organization. In this position, Van Winkle
will assume responsibility for the full stream of business unit operations,
including sales, marketing, administration, customer service, finance, product
development and manufacturing.

Van Winkle, 48, joined Kimball International in 1991 as Kimball Office
Furniture Divisional Controller. He was promoted to Vice President, General
Manager, National Office Furniture in October, 2003, assuming overall
leadership of that brand’s furniture manufacturing operations, including such
functions as quality systems and quality assurance, planning and control,
program management, materials, and process engineering. Prior to that position
he served as Vice President, Chief Finance and Administrative Officer for the
Furniture Brands Group. In that role, Van Winkle was responsible for
accounting, finance, sales and market analysis, facilities, information
technology, demand management, financial services, e-business and quality.

Succeeding Van Winkle as Vice President, General Manager, National Office
Furniture is Kevin McCoy. In 2005, McCoy was appointed Vice President of Sales
for the National Office Furniture brand, and assumed responsibility for the
field selling organization, distribution strategy and execution, and
achievement of National’s profitable growth goals. McCoy, 39, has a solid
background of experience in the office furniture industry, having spent
thirteen years with National and Kimball Office. He has both front line and
management sales experience, along with a track record of personnel
development, effective distribution management and implementing focused
vertical market programs leading to exemplary results.

Kourtney Smith has been promoted to the position of Vice President of
Marketing for the Company’s National Office Furniture brand. As Vice President
of Marketing, Smith, 40, will assume responsibility for the marketing
organization and the achievement of National Office Furniture brand goals,
including support and oversight of the brand’s strategic direction and growth
objectives. Smith has a solid track record in the office furniture industry.
She originally joined the Company in 1988, serving in various roles in
customer service, product development, management and marketing.

Stan Sapp, currently the Vice President and General Manager of Kimball
Hospitality, has been promoted to the position of President, Kimball
Hospitality, and Vice President of Kimball International, Inc. Sapp, 49, will
continue to be responsible for the Company’s hospitality brand, but will take
on the additional focus of growing Kimball International into other global
markets. Sapp has been with Kimball since 2002. Prior to joining Kimball, Sapp
served in roles of increasing responsibility, with experience in finance,
sales, marketing, manufacturing, operations, and general management for a
number of leading U.S. companies. His earlier career earned him valuable
perspective of the furniture and textile manufacturing, real estate and
banking industries.
