Anhanguera Educacional Participacoes Acquires LFG

VALINHOS, Brazil, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Anhanguera Educacional
Participacoes S.A. (Bovespa: AEDU11, Bloomberg: AEDU11:BZ), announces to its
shareholders and the market in general that, on October 6, 2008, it acquired
100% of the capital stock of LFG Business e Participacoes Ltda.
LFG is the leading provider of distance learning graduate and extension
programs in Brazil. The Company has 70,000 students enrolled in 62 programs
distributed through its 322 learning centers, under a business and pedagogical
model similar to that of Anhanguera's existing learning centers.
With this acquisition, Anhanguera becomes the largest higher education
provider in Brazil, with approximately 220,000 students on its campus and
learning centers. According to our projections, LFG should add R$ 115.0
million in Net Revenues and R$ 36.5 million in Ebitda to Anhanguera in FY
2009. Professor Luiz Flavio Gomes, CEO and founder of LFG, will join
Anhanguera's management team to lead a business unit that will integrate
operations of LFG and Anhanguera's existing learning centers.
