AREVA and Sulzer Team Up to Meet US Nuclear Industry Demand

                      for Pump and Motor Services
BETHESDA, Md., June 11 /PRNewswire/ -- AREVA's joint subsidiary with
Siemens, Framatome ANP, and Sulzer Pumps Inc. have signed an exclusive teaming
agreement to provide the US nuclear power industry with services for
contaminated auxiliary pumps and seals for both pressurized and boiling water
reactors in the United States. These services include onsite and offsite
upgrade, repair and refurbishment of any OEM's equipment.
Framatome ANP is also investing $20 million in a new, 70,000 square-foot
pump and motor service center in Lynchburg, Va., to be completed this summer.
The new facility will greatly increase the company's capacity for upgrade,
refurbishment and maintenance of contaminated nuclear plant pumps, motors and
other equipment.
The teaming agreement positions the two companies to help meet the
industry's increasing demand for pump and motor services in the United States.
The reliability and performance of pumps, seals, and motors is critical for
maximizing plant availability as well as facilitating plant life extensions
and power uprates.
"This teaming agreement allows us to return pumps and motors to better-than-original condition, with improved performance and higher efficiency,"
said Buddy Jolley, Framatome ANP Inc.'s Manager of Pump and Motor Services.
"Sulzer has a long standing reputation as a quality supplier of reliable
nuclear grade pumping equipment, repairs, parts and service. Our strength is
