Brands Group Leaders Receive Promotions

Kimball International, Inc. (NASDAQ: KBALB) today
announced the appointment of four officers as part of the Company's
ongoing growth plans in the Furniture and Cabinets segment.
Making the announcement, Dan Miller, President, Furniture Brands
Group and Executive Vice President, Kimball International, stated,
"More opportunities are beginning to present themselves, as we see
signs of improvement in all of the markets we serve within the
Furniture Brands Group units. These new appointments underscore our
commitment to our customers, and will allow us to continue with our
successes and assist in identifying and taking advantage of new growth
The announcement concerns the following promotions.
Mona Hoffman, 46, has been appointed to the newly-created position
of Vice President of Strategic Development for the Furniture Brands
Group, responsible for identification of significant new growth
opportunities. Hoffman, who joined the Company in 1994, was previously
Vice President, General Manager of National Office Furniture, where
she achieved consistent growth and profitability during her five-year
tenure. Her knowledge and expertise are expected to enhance furniture
growth initiatives. Hoffman, her spouse Bert and daughter Calley,
reside in Jasper, Indiana.
Succeeding Hoffman as Vice President, General Manager, National
Office Furniture is Donald W. VanWinkle. VanWinkle, 42, is a twelve
year employee and was previously Vice President, Chief Finance and
Administrative Officer for the Furniture Brands Group. In that role,
VanWinkle was responsible for accounting, finance, sales and market
analysis, facilities, information technology, demand management,
financial services, e-business and quality. VanWinkle, his spouse
Martha and daughters Kelly and Victoria reside in Huntingburg,
Succeeding VanWinkle as Vice President and CFO for Furniture
Brands is Sherril Lueken, who will be responsible for accounting,
finance, sales and market analysis, financial services and facilities.
Lueken, 38, has been with Kimball International for 15 years in a
series of increasingly responsible financial and accounting positions.
Lueken, her spouse Greg and daughters Paige, Brooke and Maria reside
in Jasper, Indiana.
Continuing to build upon an impressive record of performance at
National Office Furniture, made possible by dedicated, effective
leadership, Lisa Gutierrez has been promoted to Vice President of
Sales for National Office Furniture (NOF). Gutierrez, 40, joined
Kimball International in July of 2001 and was most recently Director
of Sales for NOF. She will have responsibility for all field sales
activities for National. Lisa and her husband Bill, will be relocating
to the Jasper area, from Texas, in the next several months.
