Router Chipset in Its MegaBit Gear Customer Premises Equipment
Centillium Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTLM), innovator of
broadband communications technology, today announced a partnership
with Sumitomo Electric Industries (SEI) to provide SecureDSL

interface into an integrated two-chip product.
SEI's MegaBit Gear equipment is the most widely deployed ADSL
equipment in Japan's broadband access networks. SEI will continue to
enhance the capabilities of its MegaBit Gear product line by using
Centillium's Palladia Router chipset. "Consumers in Japan's broadband
communications market are seeking value added services such as
security and home networking in their DSL access equipment," said
Yoshikazu Nishiwaki, general manager, sales and marketing, Network
Systems Division, Sumitomo Electric Industries. "With the Palladia
chipset's scaleable architecture, we are able to offer a range of
premises networking technology from bridge and router products to
innovative SecureDSL home networking equipment."
