Dial Merged With Excelsior's Global Media Division to Form Leading National
Radio Sales Representation Company
NEW YORK, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Excelsior Radio Networks today announced
that it had acquired Dial Communications LLC and merged Dial with its Global
Media Division. The new division will operate under the name Dial
Communications-Global Media Inc. and will be led by Dial principals Jeffrey
Gasman, David Landau and Ken Williams who will act as co-Presidents. Mr.
Landau will serve as a member of the Company's board of directors.
The acquisition and subsequent merger forming Dial Communications-Global
Media creates an industry leading national radio sales representation company
with anticipated 2002 advertising sales revenues of $50 million and a client
roster of over forty independent radio production companies.
Excelsior Radio Networks, a subsidiary of Franklin Capital Corporation
(Amex: FKL), was formed last summer by Franklin Capital Corporation, Sunshine
Wireless LLC and Change Technology Partners (OTC Bulletin Board: CTPI) with
the purchase of the assets of Winstar Radio Networks, Winstar Global Media and
Winstar Radio Productions. Since the acquisition, the ownership group has
worked with management to grow Global's sales representation business, enhance
the services that are offered to Global's producer partners and expand the
existing portfolio of programming that Excelsior owns.
"When the investor group formed Excelsior last summer we committed to
'build a vibrant company through acquisitions, joint ventures and internally
generated efforts,'" says Spencer L. Brown, Excelsior's Vice President and a
Senior Vice President at Franklin Capital. "The Dial Communications
acquisition represents one of our first, but not our last step in making good
on that commitment. We believe that this acquisition and merger establishes a
superb platform for future growth through strong national radio offerings. We
intend to grow Excelsior through internal efforts combined with further
acquisitions and joint ventures."
"We are very excited about the dramatic increase in the scale of
programming and sales strength the combination of the two companies
immediately provides our advertisers and radio producers," said Dial
Communications-Global Media's co-presidents in a statement released as part of
the Excelsior announcement. "As chief executives and investors in the
Company, we are committed to utilizing the Company's expanded platform and
resources to enhance the services and value we offer our current and future
clients, thereby enhancing growth."
