MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- PC Data Online (Reston, VA)
is joining Radiate, AltaVista, Motorola, MediaMetrix, Nielsen Media Research,
OgilvyOne, Arbitron, DoubleClick, AdForce, WashingtonPost.Newsweek
Interactive, and Aberdeen Research Group for the second Radiate Internet
Roundtable (RIR), which will be announced next week.
The RIR seeks to resolve issues concerning the rise of the "digital
customer," a term that represents the evolution of the Internet from the
standard Web property metric to one that includes various mediums served
through Internet technologies. Those mediums include software, cell phones,
PDAs, music, books, and video.
According to RIR members, it is becoming increasingly essential to get
together to discuss measurement issues as they directly reflect advertising
rates, company valuations and consumer privacy.
"The enormous amount of money and resources that is directed to e-commerce
argues that the methods we use to measure activity -- whether unique users,
streaming media or wireless -- be accurate, smart and reliable," said Howard
Dyckovsky, vice president of operations at PC Data Online. "Radiate does all
of us a service by addressing this critical issue head on."
The first meeting of the RIR was in New York City on July 12. Members
decided to meet again in San Francisco to begin moving forward on important
industry issues.
"PC Data Online along with MediaMetrix, Arbitron and Nielsen Media
Research is a tremendous asset to the discussion. We look forward to our next
meeting and their perspective on crucial issues," said Ehren Maedge, CEO at
Radiate.
