ANDREA ELECTRONICS INTRODUCES NEW PC-TELEPHONE INTERFACE PRODUCT

to Online
               Shopping and In-Store Retail Marketplace
The Personal Computer/Telephone Headset Interface II (PCTI II) Answers Growing
Demand of the Average Consumer for Computer-Telephone Integration Solutions
MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrea Electronics Corporation
(Amex: AND) introduced today the Andrea ConnectSolutions(TM) Personal
Computer/Telephone Headset Interface II (PCTI(TM) II), the Company's answer to
the growing need for cost-efficient, high-quality computer-telephone
integration (CTI) products within the growing Small Office/ Home Office (SOHO)
and consumer retail marketplaces. The PCTI II draws from the popular features
of Andrea Electronics' business-to-business channel CTI product, the
ConnectSolutions PCTI, by connecting headset users to the computer or
telephone to improve the performance of speech-centric computing and
traditional telephony applications through enhanced convenience and superior
audio quality. Online shoppers can now place their orders for the PCTI II
when visiting the Company's website (www.andreaelectronics.com). The Company
will be offering the PCTI II in the first quarter of 1999 in computer and
office product superstores nationally for a manufacturer's suggested retail
price (MSRP) of $119.95.
"Andrea Electronics maintains close communication with customers and
end-users, which keeps us in tune with the growing technology and product
needs within various markets," said Douglas J. Andrea, Co-chairman and
Co-chief Executive Officer of Andrea Electronics Corporation. "Within the
corporate call center, business services and trading floor markets, we saw a
need for products that reduce order input time, increase communication
efficiency and accuracy, improve customer service and heighten productivity.
We successfully introduced with our high-end PCTI product earlier this year to
address that need. Now, the SOHO marketplace, the fastest growing business
marketplace in the nation, and the average consumer are demanding a product
that brings them similar CTI advantages while meeting their more
cost-conscious budgets. Andrea Electronics has designed the PCTI II to
specifically meet these needs as a user-friendly, efficient, high-performance
and cost-effective alternative."
ABOUT THE PCTI II
Using the PCTI II's easy toggle feature, headset users can alternately
conduct telephone conversations and communicate to, or through, their
computers using speech-driven applications including:

-- voice command and control programs, including speech-enabled web
       browsing
    -- speech recognition dictation programs
-- Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) applications, such as Internet
telephony or video conferencing, among others.

The PCTI II, like the original PCTI, performs an audio enhancement process
that ensures pre-equalized, CD-quality digital sound output. Both telephony
and speech-driven computer applications, the performance of which relies on
the clarity of the voice signal received, are significantly enhanced by this
superior audio system. The enriched sound provided by the PCTI II can also be
extended to multimedia speakers through an additional speaker connectivity
feature.
The PCTI, introduced in August 1998, is currently offered through
business-to-business channels, including S.P. Richards and CommuniTech, to
corporate customers for an MSRP of $149.95. Geared more toward the
individual, personal, student or SOHO user, the PCTI II is currently available
on Andrea Electronics' website at www.andreaelectronics.com and will be
offered in certain office and computer supply retail superstores nationally
beginning in the first quarter of 1999 at an MSRP of $119.95. While providing
the same core advantages of enhanced sound quality and convenient headset
connection to the telephone and the computer, the PCTI and PCTI II differ in
ways that make the PCTI II a more cost-effective option for the average
consumer in the broad retail marketplace.
For example, the PCTI II offers headset connectivity to the telephone or
to the computer, eliminating the niche application-specific feature of the
PCTI that connects cyber call center, trading floor, business services and
other corporate customers simultaneously to the telephone and computer.
The PCTI II has been advantageously designed to be compatible with the
full range of Andrea Anti-Noise(R) headsets. Additionally, the PCTI II is
compatible with two of Andrea Electronics' new online offerings that also
target the SOHO marketplace, the Andrea QuietWare(TM) 1000 with ANC and the
Andrea WirelessSolutions(TM) AWS-100 Infrared System.
