WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1997--Parametric Technology Corporation (NASDAQ:PMTC), developer of the Pro/ENGINEER(R) family of software tools used to automate mechanical product development, announced that it has received a $1.7 million order for software and services from Mirae Corporation of Chun An City, Korea. The software will be shipped to the company during PTC's current fiscal quarter (ending January 3, 1998).

Mirae Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer of semiconductor equipment, will use Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/MECHANICA(R) throughout the entire product development process for the creation of semiconductor equipment. Mr. Kwangill Koh, executive director of research and development at Mirae, noted, "As a leader in a highly competitive field, we are constantly looking for ways to improve our competitiveness." He added, "We expect our investment in Pro/ENGINEER will give Mirae the ability to continue to outpace our competition."
