GREYHOUND LINES ACQUIRES LOGO RIGHTS

and Five Terminals from Former Parent Company
DALLAS, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Greyhound Lines, Inc. (Amex: BUS) has
acquired ownership of the famous "running dog" logo that has been the
company's symbol for almost 80 years. The company also purchased three
terminals formerly leased from the Viad Corp. (NYSE: VVI) and acquired the
remaining joint venture interests held by Viad in two other terminals for
$10.2 million.
The image of the running dog is one of the most widely recognized
trademarks in the world. Greyhound Lines had been licensed to use the
trademarks in the United States and Mexico, and now owns the marks worldwide,
except Canada. In Canada, Greyhound Canada Transportation Corporation will
continue to use certain trademarks under preexisting agreements.
The terminal properties acquired are located in San Jose, Nashville, Reno,
Denver and Albuquerque. The five terminals are the last of 25 leased to
Greyhound Lines under a master lease at the time Greyhound became an
independent company in 1987. Ownership was retained at that time by the
company then known as The Greyhound Corporation of Phoenix, which later
changed its name to Dial Corp (NYSE: DL). and then to Viad Corp. There will
be no change in operations due to the change in ownership.
Greyhound is the only nationwide provider of intercity bus transportation,
serving more than 2,400 destinations with 18,000 daily departures. The
company also provides package express service, charter service and food
service at certain terminals. For schedule and route information, contact
Greyhound at (800) 231-2222, or visit our web site at www.greyhound.com .
