MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 1996-- GeoNova (ME:GNE) The
latest hole drilled by GeoNova Explorations on its Desjardins
property (51 percent), located North of Lebel- sur-Quevillon, in
northwestern Quebec, intersected a wide mineralized zone at a depth
of 445 meters.
A 28.7-meter section (true width of 17.7 meters) graded 3.4 g/t
Au. This zone includes richer intersections at 6.4 g/t Au over 8.9
meters (5.5 meters), which also includes a section at 10.1 g/t Au
over 4.2 meters (2.6 meters). This drill hole is located 140 meters
deeper than hole 95-40 (5.7 g/t Au over 2.7 meters) and 75 meters
above hole 96-49C (1.9 g/t Au over 1.4 meters), at the western margin
of the Discovery zone.
The complete results are as follows:

Drill Section Depth Intersections (True Width)
----- ------- ----- --------------------------

96-55 7 + 40 W 445 meters 3.4 g/t Au over 28.7 meters

Hole 96-54 was drilled between holes 96-49 (5.5 g/t Au over 5.1
meters) and 96-52 (7.5 g/t Au over 1.5 meter). Hole 96-34 was
drilled to verify an intersection grading at 5.5 g/t Au over 0.53
meter in hole 91-34 drilled by Corona Corp. (now Homestake Canada
Inc.). Hole 96-33C was wedged from hole 91-33 (1.6 g/t Au over 1.6
Drilling has now begun on the adjoining Borduas-Martel property.
The first hole (BD-96-38) was drilled 50 meters below hole BD-96-33
(6.1 g/t Au over 2.0 meters), approximately 1.5 kilometer East of the
Discovery zone. Five mineralized zones were intersected, including a
3.45-meter section with millimeter-size visible gold. The results
will be available shortly.
Mr. Andre Fortier, President and Chief Executive Officer of
GeoNova, mentioned that : "These latest results indicate an increase
in the geological resources of the Discovery zone. The zone remains
open to the west and down dip at depth. The first results on
Borduas-Martel suggest that we may encounter zones similar to the
discovery zone."
