(``Evans'') (NASDAQ:ECOS) Tuesday announced that it has terminated its agreement to acquire certain assets of Plants for Tomorrow Inc. (NASDAQ:PFTI). Both parties agreed that the termination is in the best interests of the two companies. Dr. Charles C. Evans, president of Evans, stated, ``The termination of this agreement is consistent with our corporate goals, does not effect the commitment of Evans to wetlands restoration and frees us to pursue other more beneficial opportunities.'' Evans is an emerging leader in providing innovative environmental laboratory, consulting and management services to the U.S. market. Evans specializes in providing solutions to environmental problems such as contaminated soil and water, underground storage tanks, asbestos, lead based paint and wetland or endangered habitat management.
