(Masa-Yards), Finland's largest shipbuilder, currently is installing its new $1.1 million MEDUSA solution from Computervision Corp. (NYSE:CVN). This sale will help the Finnish shipbuilder further shorten product development cycles as it continues to provide the industry's most advanced cruise liners and other special ships. As part of the agreement, Computervision will develop a shipbuilding solution on top of the MEDUSA software now in use by Kvaerner Masa-Yards. Kvaerner Masa-Yards will also market these solution to other shipbuilding companies. The purchase of the MEDUSA software solution gives Kvaerner Masa-Yards access to the productive and robust design and drafting tools offered by MEDUSA, as well as to a number of third party solutions. Among the software purchased was Medusa Plant Design System (MPDS), HVAC, Assembly Solids and Electric Design and interior outfitting software.
