Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The bomb attacks in Egypt last week that killed 32 people, 13 of them Israelis, show that the war against terrorism must be fought ``without compromise, everywhere,'' Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said.
The terrorist attacks at two Egyptian resorts in the Sinai Peninsula were directed against Israeli citizens, Sharon told a Cabinet meeting yesterday, according to an e-mailed Israeli government statement.
``There is no room for compromise or concessions regarding terrorism,'' the statement cited Sharon as saying.
The Israeli army said last week the bombings were claimed by the World Islamist Group, which is connected to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network. The attacks took place at the Hilton Resort in Taba, located south of the border with Israel, and at Ras al- Satan 45 kilometers (28 miles) south of Taba.
Attempts to link Palestinian groups to the attacks are wrong, the Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz cited Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom as telling Israel's Channel 1 television.
``The type of attack, the fact that it was done in multiple locations with a large amount of explosives, point more to the direction of al-Qaeda,'' Haaretz cited Shalom as saying. ``The attempt to move it to the Palestinian side it wrong.''
Sharon at the Cabinet meeting criticized ``inflammatory reactions'' among the Palestinian leadership after the attacks, according to the government statement.
Egyptian security forces detained dozens of Bedouin tribesmen for questioning after the attacks, Haaretz reported on its Web site. One of the tribesmen said he sold explosives that may have been used in the attack, the newspaper reported, citing unidentified Egyptian security officials.
The Bedouin said the buyers told him the explosives would be used in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Haaretz reported, citing the Egyptian officials.
