Real Madrid Beats Los Angeles Galaxy; Says Ronaldo Not for Sale

By Dan Baynes

July 19 (Bloomberg) -- Michael Owen and Roberto Soldado scored a goal in each half as Real Madrid beat Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 last night to make it two wins from two matches on the U.S. leg of their pre-season soccer tour.

England striker Owen put Real 1-0 up in the sixth minute at the Home Depot Center and Soldado added the second on 75 minutes. Real, which beat Mexico's Chivas Guadalajara three days ago in Chicago, is also scheduled to play pre-season games in China, Japan, Thailand and Hungary.

The victory came as record nine-time European champion Real denied reports in Italian and Spanish newspapers it was trying to arrange an exchange between Ronaldo and his fellow Brazil striker Adriano, who plays for Italian club Inter Milan. Ronaldo, 28, has been Real's leading scorer for each of the past three seasons.

``In light of reports about a possible deal involving Ronaldo and Adriano, Real Madrid would like to reiterate that they will not listen to any offer nor will they negotiate the sale of Ronaldo,'' the club said on its Web site.

Real's next tour match is against Beijing Guoan on July 23 before two games in Tokyo and one in Bangkok.
