U.S. Stock Futures Erase Their Gains as GDP Trails Forecast

Aug. 31 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures erased their gains after a government report showed gross domestic product in the second quarter trailed economists' estimates.

Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in September lost 0.90, or 0.1 percent, to 1207.70 as of 8:37 a.m. in New York after advancing as much as 0.3 percent. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures declined 10 to 10,405.

The U.S. economy expanded at a 3.3 percent annual rate in the second quarter. Economists had forecast growth of 3.4 percent.
