Indonesia's Pangestu Says U.S. Tobacco Bill Is Unfair: Video
June 19 (Bloomberg) -- Indonesian Trade Minister Mari Pangestu talks with Bloomberg's Haslinda Amin about Indonesia's reaction to U.S. legislation that may ban clove-favored cigarettes.
The law, which was approved by the House of Representatives and Senate earlier this month, gives regulators expanded powers to regulate tobacco products. Indonesia exports about $500 million worth of clove cigarettes, known as kreteks, a year. Pangestu, speaking from Jakarta, also discusses Indonesia's economy, exports and the outlook for palm oil demand and prices. (Source: Bloomberg)
