Jan. 12 (Bloomberg) -- France Telecom SA’s Orange and Vivendi SA’s SFR are satisfied with their sales of mobile phones over the Christmas period, La Tribune reported, citing unidentified people at the companies.

Orange sold three times more Apple iPhones in December 2008 than in December 2007, the newspaper said. The company sold 70,000 iPhones between Nov. 28 and Dec. 31 2007, according to La Tribune. SFR sales were helped by top-of-the-range products such as Research In Motion Ltd.’s BlackBerry Storm, it said.

Bouygues Telecom declined to comment on its Christmas sales, the newspaper reported.
