Deutsche Lufthansa, E.ON, RWE, Siemens: German Equity Preview

Dec. 16 (Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may make gains or losses in German markets tomorrow.

Futures that track Germany's benchmark DAX Index advanced 0.1 percent to 4231 on Eurex AG, the world's biggest futures market, as of the 8 p.m. close in Frankfurt. The DAX closed up 0.5 percent at 4233.71 on the Xetra electronic-trading system.

Stock symbols are in parentheses after the company names and prices are from the Xetra close unless otherwise stated.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG (LHA GY): Europe's third-largest airline may cut 42 percent of about 300 managers at its cargo unit, die Welt said, citing management board member Stephan Gemkow. The shares were unchanged at 10.51 euros.

Emprise Management Consulting AG (ERI GY): The computer consulting company forecasted 2005 net income of 1.5 million euros ($2 million) on sales of over 30 million euros, as it continues its ``stable growth.'' The shares fell 6 cents, or 3.4 percent, to 1.71 euros.

E.ON AG (EOA GY): Europe's second-largest utility will hold a conference call to discuss its investment plan through 2007. The shares increased 1.05 euros, or 1.6 percent, to 66.25 euros.

GfK AG (GFK GY): Germany's biggest market researcher said Supervisory Board Chairman Peter Zuehlsdorff resigned and will be replaced by Hajo Riesenbeck. GfK also forecast net income of about 50 million euros for 2004. The shares added 1 cent to 27.01 euros.

RWE AG (RWE GY): Germany's second-largest utility plans to sell its German residential real estate holdings to Deutsche Annington Immobilien GmbH for about 225 million euros, Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung said, without saying where it got the information. The shares dropped 3 cents, or 0.1 percent, to 39.92 euros.

Siemens AG (SIE GY): Germany's largest electronics company sold about 13 million shares in Juniper Networks Inc. to cut the holding it gained in the U.S. network company in 2002 below five percent. The stake Siemens sold is valued at about $359 million, based on Juniper's closing share price yesterday. Siemens shares were unchanged at 61.99 euros.
