Toyoda and other members of senior management will hold a press
conference in China tomorrow to address topics of public concern.
Toyoda will speak on Monday evening in Beijing, the company
said in an e-mailed statement sent to Bloomberg News yesterday.
The world’s largest automaker is struggling to repair a
reputation damaged by having to recall more than 8 million
vehicles globally since September for problems including
unintended acceleration.
Toyoda, who became the company’s President in June 2009,
acknowledged this week that shortening production times may have
contributed to the product defects.
