Sept. 28 (Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or fall in European markets today. Prices are from the close of Sept. 27. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
The Dow Jones Stoxx 600 Index fell 0.3 percent to 294.81. The Stoxx 50 lost 10.09, or 0.3 percent, to 3234.72. The Euro Stoxx 50, a benchmark for the 12 nations using the euro, slipped 16.69, or 0.5 percent, to 3384.24.
Acea SpA (ACE IM): Italy's biggest municipal utility reports first-half results. The stock climbed 25.3 cents, or 2.8 percent, to 9.44 euros.
Areva SA (CEI FP): The world's biggest maker of nuclear reactors said it bought 21.1 percent of Repower Systems AG (RPW GY), a German maker of wind turbines. Areva shares fell 4 euros to 446 euros and Repower Systems lost 3 cents to 26.52 euros.
Arnoldo Mondadori Editore SpA (MN IM): The publisher controlled by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said in a statement after markets closed yesterday that its first-half profit rose 19 percent from a year earlier to 51.9 million euros ($62.4 million), as it increased advertising sales and sold more magazines. The stock fell 8 cents to 8.31 euros.
Assicurazioni Generali SpA (G IM): The shares of Italy's biggest insurer may move after Alleanza Assicurazioni SpA (AL IM), the life-insurance unit of Generali, will report first-half earnings. General shares fell 13 cents, or 0.5 percent, to 26.22 euros and Alleanza lost 7 cents to 10.13 euros.
Barratt Developments Plc (BDEV LN): The U.K.'s third-biggest homebuilder by market value may say fiscal full-year profit rose to 282 million pounds ($498 million) from 260.5 million pounds, as an increase in sales of lower-cost houses helps it counter the end of a housing boom. This forecast is based on the median estimate of five analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. The shares climbed 12.5 pence, or 1.7 percent, to 730 pence.
British Energy Group Plc (BGY LN): The U.K.'s largest power producer is scheduled to release fiscal first-quarter results. The shares plummeted 8.75 pence, or 1.8 percent, to 484 pence.
Eni SpA (ENI IM): Chief Executive Paolo Scaroni speaks at the Italian Energy Summit in Milan. Enel SpA (ENEL IM) Chief Executive Fulvio Conti and Italian Energy Regulator President Alessandro Ortis will also speak. Eni rose 5 cents to 24.8 euros. Enel fell 3.4 cents to 7.24 euros.
Groupe Beneteau (BEN FP): The yacht maker said 2005 full-year sales rose 12 percent to 799 million euros, led by a 22 percent rise in motorboat sales. The shares climbed 1.6 euros, or 2 percent, to 71.6 euros.
Heineken NV (HEIA NA): The world's fourth-largest brewer filed lawsuits in the Netherlands and Germany to stop Royal Philips Electronics NV (PHIA NA) and InBev NV (INB BB) from selling the Perfect Draft beer-draught dispenser for home use.
Heineken shares slipped 7 cents to 26.91 euros, Philips lost 15 cents to 22.04 euros and InBev fell 28 cents to 33.41 euros.
Hennes & Mauritz AB (HMB SS): Europe's largest clothing chain may say fiscal third-quarter profit rose 29 percent from a year earlier to 2.05 billion kronor ($264 million) in its, boosted by expansion in regions such as North America and Eastern Europe. This forecast is based on the median estimate of five analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News. The stock slipped 2 kronor to 270 kronor.
Kesa Electricals Plc (KESA LN): The owner of Darty electronics stores in France and Comet in the U.K. will report first-half earnings. The shares plunged 4.25 pence, or 1.6 percent, to 259.75 pence.
Mediolanum SpA (MED IM): The financial-services company partly owned by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi reports first-half results. Shares slipped 6.4 cents, or 1.1 percent, to 5.63 euros.
Pininfarina SpA (PINF IM): The Italian designer and builder of niche vehicles for Ferrari SpA and PSA Peugeot Citroen SA (UG FP) reports first-half results. The stock retreated 67 cents, or 2.3 percent, to 28.89 euros.
Sanpaolo IMI SpA (SPI IM): Italy's third-biggest bank is scheduled to report first-half earnings. The stock added 0.2 percent to 12.62 euros.
Technical Olympic SA (OLYMP GA): The Greek builder is scheduled to report first-half earnings. The shares slipped 4 cents to 5.52 euros.
UniCredito Italiano SpA (UC IM): The lender's takeover of HVB Group will proceed as planned in the face of criticism from HVB's supervisory board, Handelsblatt said, citing the banks' chief executives, Alessandro Profumo and Dieter Rampl. Profumo and Rampl said they received support from investors for the offer, which ends Oct. 10, the newspaper reported. UniCredito shares lost 0.3 percent to 4.70 euros and HVB fell 14 cents to 23.43 euros.
Versatel Telecom International NV (VRSA NA): An Amsterdam court rejected an attempt by a minority group of Versatel shareholders to derail Tele2 AB's (TEL2B BB) 1.34 billion-euro takeover offer for the No. 2 Dutch provider of telecommunications services to businesses. Versatel shares traded unchanged at 2.19 euros when they were suspended from trading at 5 p.m. yesterday. Tele2 stock slipped 0.25 krona to 78 kronor.
