Jan. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The table below lists companies that may financially benefit from President-elect Barack Obama’s plans to boost the economy through national infrastructure reconstruction.
Based on stock increases immediately after the president- elect’s radio address Dec. 6, investors bet that the winners will include makers of earth-moving equipment, as well as steel and cement producers. These kinds of companies may be in line for business from proposals to rebuild bridges and highways.
The initiative, which may rival the 1956 effort to create an interstate highway system, will also involve spending billions of dollars on schools, health care, broadband expansion, the electrical grid and the Internet.
The list includes companies that have been identified by investors, analysts and executives as potential beneficiaries.
