Wisconsin Poll Puts Kerry Far Ahead of Opponents, Reuters Says

Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Democratic presidential front-runner Senator John Kerry appears set for a wide victory in Wisconsin, Reuters reported, citing the latest Reuters/MSNBC/Zogby poll.

The poll said the senator from Massachusetts would likely beat his nearest rival, former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, by 24 points, in tomorrow's primary election, Reuters said. Kerry leads Dean 47 percent to 23 percent, while North Carolina Senator John Edwards was third in the poll with 20 percent.

The poll, which includes 600 likely voters, was taken Friday, Saturday and yesterday. The survey, which concluded before yesterday's debate among the five remaining Democratic contenders, has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Kerry has won 14 of 16 Democratic contests so far. Dean, once the front-runner, has said he'll return to Vermont to evaluate his candidacy if he loses, while Edwards says he'll continue to the 10 contests on March 2, known as ``Super Tuesday.''
