Qatar Petroleum Raises Oil Prices to 9-Month High (Update1)

By Yee Kai Pin

July 8 (Bloomberg) -- Qatar Petroleum, which exports most of its crude oil production to Asia, raised June official selling prices to their highest in nine months.

Qatar Petroleum increased its June price of Qatar Land crude oil to $71.10 a barrel, up $11.50, or 19.3 percent, from May, the state-run Qatar News Agency said on its Web site today. The June price of Qatar Marine grade was raised by $11.80, or 20.2 percent, to $70.10 a barrel.

The increases reflect recent supply cuts imposed by Qatar as part of reduced Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries output targets. The country, the second-smallest OPEC producer, pumped 695,000 barrels a day last month, below its quota of 731,000 barrels a day and capacity of 900,000 barrels a day, according to a Bloomberg survey.

Qatar Petroleum said last week it will roll back a 15 percent cut on July shipments of Qatar Marine and will supply full August volumes of both Land and Marine grades to customers in Asia.
