Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Royal Dutch Shell Plc, Europe's biggest oil company, said a pipeline in Nigeria's Rivers State was attacked by militants yesterday.
``A section of the Greater Port Harcourt Swamp Line at Bakana, Rivers State, was attacked,'' Shell spokesman Rainer Winzenried said in an e-mailed statement. The link is part of the Bonny Light crude system, he said.
Nigerian militants today claimed responsibility for sabotaging a pipeline operated by Shell's Nigeria unit as attacks against the oil industry in the Niger River delta entered a fourth day.
