Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose shares may have unusual price changes in South Africa. Stock symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.
South Africa’s FTSE/JSE Africa All Share Index rose for a third day, adding 30.92, or 0.1 percent, to 26,375.93 at the close in Johannesburg.
BHP Billiton Ltd. (BIL SJ): The world’s largest mining company had its share-price target raised to A$45 from A$42 by analysts at Credit Suisse Group AG, which kept its recommendation at “neutral.” BHP rose 79 cents, or 0.4 percent, to 220.40 rand in Johannesburg.
Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (IMP SJ): The producer of more than a quarter of the world’s supply of the precious metal holds a board meeting. Impala’s stock gained 1 rand, or 0.6 percent, to 174 rand.
Mr Price Group Ltd. (MPC SJ): The clothing and linen retailer releases first-half earnings. Shares of Mr Price rose 5 cents, or 0.2 percent, to 32.95 rand.
Pretoria Portland Cement Co. Ltd. (PPC SJ): Africa’s biggest maker of the construction material said net income for the year through September declined to 1 billion rand ($135 million) from 1.5 billion rand a year earlier. The company has also confessed to being part of a cement cartel and has been granted conditional leniency, South Africa’s Competition Commission said. PPC’s stock gained 30 cents, or 0.9 percent, to 32.50 rand.
Spar Group Ltd. (SPP SJ): The grocery and liquor retailer said net income for the year through September rose to 745.2 million rand from 681.6 million rand. The Pinetown, South Africa-based company fell 50 cents, or 0.8 percent, to 64.50 rand.
Shares or American depositary receipts of the following South African companies closed as follows:
Anglo American Plc (AAUKY US) fell 1.9 percent to $20.45. AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU US) gained 1.9 percent to $43.19. BHP Billiton Ltd. (BBL US) rose 0.1 percent to $59.79. DRDGold Ltd. (DROOY US) fell 1.6 percent to $5.45. Gold Fields Ltd. (GFI US) increased 0.4 percent to $14.62. Harmony Gold Mining Co. (HMY US) advanced 0.4 percent to $10.94. Impala Platinum Holdings Co. (IMPUY US) rose 0.6 percent to $23.63. Sappi Ltd. (SPP US) dropped 1.3 percent to $3.87. Sasol Ltd. (SSL US) added 0.8 percent to $40.45. Telkom South Africa Ltd. (TLKGY US) slipped 0.7 percent to $22.34.
