MTN to Fire 403 in South Africa, May Cut Stores, Times Reports

Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- MTN Group Ltd. will cut 403 permanent jobs in South Africa, the Times newspaper said, citing an internal e-mail sent out by the company’s human resources department. MTN may also cut 70 percent of 3,000 non-permanent staff and close down 36 non-profitable service stores, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said, citing Themba Nyathi, the group’s head of human resources.
