DIC Appoints David Smoot as Managing Director Private Equity

July 1 (Bloomberg) -- Dubai International Capital LLC, the $13 billion buyout company owned by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid al-Maktoum, hired David Smoot as managing director of private equity from Morgan Stanley.
Smoot, 38, will be based in Dubai and report to Chief Executive Officer of Dubai International Capital Private Equity Sylvain Denis, DIC said in an e-mailed statement today. Smoot spent 11 years at Morgan Stanley, the statement said.
