By Jim Rubin
June 25 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. District Judge Samuel B. Kent, who pleaded guilty to obstructing an investigation into charges he sexually assaulted two female employees, resigned from the bench.
The U.S. House of Representatives voted last week to impeach the Texas judge and send the case to the Senate for a trial on whether he should be removed from office.
Senate leaders said in a statement today that Kent has stepped down.
