By Chris Peterson

Nov. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Cliff Richard, one of Britain's earliest rock stars who went on score hits with middle-of-the-road ballads, is to reunite with his backing group The Shadows for an arena tour to celebrate 50 years since they first started, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported.

They had their first hit with ``Move It'' in 1958 and had 19 Number 1 hits in the U.K., including ``Living Doll'' and ``Travellin' Light'' and ``The Young Ones''; the Shadows, who started out as the Drifters until it was realized there was a U.S. singing group with the same name, had instrumental hits such as ``Apache,'' ``Wonderful Land'' and ``Foot Tapper.

Cliff Richard and the band haven't performed together for 20 years, and the tour lineup wiill include original members Hank Marvin and Bruce Welch, the BBC reported.
