By Lukanyo Mnyanda
Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- The dollar advanced against the euro as European stock markets opened weaker and the risk of holding the debt of the continent's companies rose.
The dollar was at $1.4201 per euro as of 8:28 a.m. in London, from $1.426 late yesterday in New York. The U.S. currency gained against all but two of the 16 most-actively traded currencies.
