March 28 (Bloomberg) -- A German ``super bank'' combining Deutsche Bank AG, Dresdner Bank AG, Commerzbank AG and Deutsche Postbank AG is being considered by top officials in the country's financial industry, Stern magazine reported.
The combined company would have more than 40 million customers, the magazine said, without identifying the officials. The possible merger couldn't happen until next year at the earliest because negotiations would be difficult, Stern reported.
The creation of such a bank wouldn't face antitrust problems because the country's savings banks and cooperative lenders provide ample competition, according to the report.
