Lufthansa Seeks Approval for ‘Code-Share’ With JetBlue, FT Says

By Ben Livesey

Aug. 31 (Bloomberg) -- Deutsche Lufthansa AG plans to seek regulator approval to create a so-called code-share agreement with JetBlue Airways Corp., enabling it to market JetBlue’s flights as its own, which may help the German airline broaden its footprint at John F. Kennedy International Airport, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The deal may also help JetBlue persuade more U.S. passengers to choose its service on trans-Atlantic travel and both companies may file their request to the U.S. Department of Transportation as early as today, the FT said.
