May 20 (Bloomberg) -- Permira Advisers LLP, manager of an 11.1 billion-euro ($17.3 billion) buyout fund, hired ex-Telecom Italia SpA Chief Executive Officer Riccardo Ruggiero to help it find technology, media and telecommunications investments.

Ruggiero will join the firm as a senior adviser, London-based Permira said in an e-mailed statement today. Ruggiero served as Telecom Italia's CEO between 2002 and 2007.
