March 12 (Bloomberg) -- Police in India's western state of Goa are questioning five men over the death of a 15-year-old British tourist.
Scarlett Keeling was found dead last month on Goa's Anjuna Beach, an international tourist destination.
An autopsy determined the cause of death to be drowning, Superintendent of Police Bosco George said by telephone today from the state capital, Panaji. Her mother requested a second examination be carried out because of injuries to her body.
That report recommended police investigate the possibility she was murdered, he said. ``It says drowning cannot be ruled out'' and didn't establish whether she was raped.
Police have arrested a 29-year-old employee of a local beach café, George said.
Keeling came to India with her five siblings, her mother, Fiona MacKeown, 43, and her mother's boyfriend.
MacKeown was visiting southern Karnataka state when Keeling died, George said. Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat rejected media reports that MacKeown may face negligence charges.
