June 8 (Bloomberg) -- Pakistan revised its estimate of refugees who fled fighting in the northwestern Swat Valley after accounting for multiple registrations.
It is estimated about two million people are internally displaced, Adnan Khan, spokesman for the provincial relief commission said by telephone from Peshawar today. Earlier estimates had pegged the number of refugees at at as many as three million. Data is still being rechecked and verified, he said.
