EDF, Michelin, Fonciere Lyonnaise, Meetic: French Stock Preview

Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The following is a list of companies whose stocks may have unusual changes in Paris. Symbols are in parentheses after company names and prices are from the last close.

January futures on France’s CAC 40 Index climbed 7.5 to 3,366.5 at 8:28 a.m. in Paris.

The CAC 40 added 10.23, or 0.3 percent, to 3,359.92, yesterday. The SBF 120 Index gained 0.5 percent to 2,416.44.

Electricite de France SA (EDF FP): The world’s biggest operator of nuclear plants said its 12.5 billion-pound ($18 billion) bid for British Energy Group Plc became unconditional today. EDF shares rose 1.28 euros, or 3 percent, to 43.23 euros.

Meetic (MEET FP): Europe’s biggest publicly traded Internet dating site said that it targets 20 percent to 25 percent earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization margin for 2009. The company said disposal of its Chinese operation will help 2009 earnings. The stock rose 15 cents, or 1.4 percent, to 10.99 euros.

Michelin & Cie. (ML FP): The world’s second-largest tiremaker said it will increase prices of truck tires sold in Canada by as much as 6 percent from Feb. 1. The shares of Michelin rose 88 cents, or 2.2 percent, to 40.16 euros.

Societe Fonciere Lyonnaise SA (FLY FP): Spanish real estate company Inmobiliaria Colonial SA said Calyon exercised options to buy stakes in Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas SA and Societe Fonciere Lyonnaise SA as part of debt renegotiations. Calyon bought a 3.4 percent stake in Spanish builder FCC and 8.8 percent in French real estate company Lyonnaise from Colonial. Lyonnaise shares rose 2.4 euros, or 9.4 percent, to 28 euros.

Societe Television Francaise 1 (TFI FP): France’s largest commercial TV company is in talks to buy Groupe AB, which owns a 40 percent stake in digital television channel TMC, La Tribune reported, citing an unidentified person in the industry. The stock slid 1.6 percent to 10.81 euros.
