Danone’s Stake in Wahaha ‘Not Strategic,’ Riboud Tells Investir
By Fabio Benedetti-Valentini
Feb. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Groupe Danone SA’s stake in Chinese partner Hagzhou Wahaha Group Co. is “not strategic any more,” Investir said, citing an interview with Chief Executive Officer Franck Riboud.
The Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce is arbitrating a dispute over control of the Wahaha trademark and should reach a decision later this year, Riboud told Investir. Danone’s “main option” is to sell the activity, though it is in no rush, Investir cited Riboud as saying.
Danone’s sales will probably grow less than 8 percent to 10 percent in 2009, Riboud told Investir.
