Taiwan May Loosen Tech Investment Rules in China, WSJ Says
By Tim Smith
Oct. 30 (Bloomberg) -- President Ma Ying-jeou said Taiwan will consider further loosening rules on local technology companies’ investment in China to grab a bigger slice of the market, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing Ma in an interview with foreign reporters.
Ma said while Taiwan won’t lead other countries in bringing new technologies to China, it might follow others who begin manufacturing advanced technological products on the mainland.
