Sept. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Johnson & Johnson and Eli Lilly & Co. were among five drugmakers cited by U.S. regulators, who said the companies' promotional materials for certain drugs were misleading.

Among the drugs were J&J's Concerta and Lilly's Strattera, treatments for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, according to letters to the companies posted today on the Food and Drug Administration's Web site.

The FDA questioned materials from Novartis AG about Focalin XR and Diovan, Mallinckrodt Inc. for Methylin, and Shire Ltd. about Adderall XR.
