May 17 (Bloomberg) -- Senator Ted Kennedy was rushed to the hospital overnight near the family compound in Hyannis, Massachusetts, after experiencing ``stroke-like'' symptoms, CNN reported, citing an unidentified person familiar with the situation.

The 76-year-old Kennedy is being moved to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, CNN reported, citing the unidentified person. The hospital couldn't confirm that Kennedy was on any of the hospital's public patient lists, CNN said.

The Cape Cod Times newspaper said Kennedy left on a medical evacuation helicopter at 10:15 a.m. local time, CNN reported.
