By Dave Liedtka

Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Treasury 30-year bond yields dropped to the lowest since regular issuance of the securities began in 1977 as spreading financial turmoil wiped out more than $10 trillion of stock-market value worldwide this month.

The yield on the 30-year bond declined 16 basis points, or 0.16 percentage point, to 3.88 percent at 6:49 a.m. in New York. The previous low was 3.89 percent set on Sept. 16.
