Feb. 15 (Bloomberg) -- The European Union yesterday rejected another list of farms the Brazilian government said were eligible to export beef to the region, O Estado de S. Paulo reported, without saying where it got the information.
The EU banned Brazilian beef imports in January, saying the world's biggest beef exporter failed to ensure its animals were healthy. The bloc rejected an initial list from the Brazilian government of 2,681 farms that the South American nation said were fit to export meat. The latest list included 523 farms.
The EU will only accept a list of up to 300 farms, Estado said. Some of the 523 farms were kept in the list because of political pressure, and the number of cattle listed for some farms was incorrect, Estado reported.
