May 9 (Bloomberg) -- Colombian President Alvaro Uribe ordered Vice President Francisco Santos to correct his comments saying that the government may rethink relations with the U.S. should the U.S. Congress fail to approve the two countries' free trade accord, Radio W reported.
Santos last night in an interview with RCN Television said failure to approve the free-trade accord would cause Colombia to ``re-evaluate Colombia's relations'' with the U.S. Uribe said comments on relations with foreign governments should be left to himself, the radio station said.
Uribe also ordered Santos to publicly apologize to Colombia's congress for saying that as many as 40 lawmakers would be imprisoned for alleged ties to paramilitary fighters, W Radio.
